Lyrics

Down On Your Luck Songs

The story of my life sounded like a broken record
Another down on my luck tragedy
And though I gave it my best effort to turn it all around
I could never seem to find a remedy

Then one day I had a thought about my favorite old sad song
That I listened to when I was blue and feeling all alone
If I played that sad song backwards could I turn around this curse
So I put on that old record and I played it in reverse

Well I found me another dog and my bills got fully paid
My health has much improved
And now I’m driving a brand new Chevrolet
And me and the MRS are once again sharing kisses
And I don’t sing down on my luck songs anymore
I don’t sing down on my luck songs anymore

Now when I hear those sad ole songs playing on the radio
A smile a country mile appears and in my heart of hearts I know
If they’d play those sad songs backwards they could turn around that curse
If they’d put on those old records and just play them in reverse

They would find another dog and their bills would get fully paid
Their health would much improve and they’d be driving a brand new Chevrolet
And they and their MRS would once again be sharing kisses
And they won’t sing down on their luck songs anymore
They won’t sing down on their luck songs anymore

So if you’re tired of singing the blues
You now know what you can do
To see a miracle of miracles come true
You may not be a saint but you’ll soon be a believer
When you see all that you’ve lost
Come right back to you come right back to you

You won’t sing down on your luck songs anymore
You won’t sing down on your luck songs anymore
With a smile a country mile in your heart of hearts you’ll know
You won’t sing down on your luck songs
You won’t sing down on your luck songs
You won’t sing down on your luck songs anymore
