Yet some hearts remain lukewarm and some stone cold

I want ecstasy and emotion, not conviction and transforming
I want the warmth of the womb, not the pain, of a new birth
I want a pound of the eternal and an ounce or two of love
All together I would like to buy three dollars, worth of God
Partial participation not full surrender and consecration
If you’re offended by the call to holiness and humility
Then this is God’s revelation and a pretty good indication
That’s exactly what you need
Tolerance not repentance, keep the peace no one offended
Don’t rock the boat is that what Jesus spoke
Let’s maintain the status quo that’s the safest way to go
