Every now and then a notion hits my mind
Drawing me to look beyond this life that I call mine
Delving into deeper ways and more complex designs
Wisdom far beyond what any human can define
Those thoughts appear like vapors, hard to hold at times
Opportunities we’ve missed our life just carries on
Until another moment another stitch in time
Asks if we might turn aside and follow through this time
How deep is deep how high is high
How far is it from side to side
How detailed can the details be
Within this life that God calls me
Can we move beyond what our To Do List shows
Mindlessly surrendering to the status quo
And yes how easily we justify the roles we play
Maybe it ensures we won’t get lost along the way
If only for a minute take a look around
Measure if you can every sight and every sound
Beyond the common ways that have always kept us bound
